Shop Local, Dine Local and Enjoy Local

The Mississauga Board of Trade launches Shop Local Mississauga campaign

(Mississauga, ON – September 29, 2021) Today at a press conference with Mayor Bonnie Crombie, the Mississauga Board of Trade (MBOT) officially launched Shop Local Mississauga, a campaign to encourage all residents to Shop Local, Dine Local and Enjoy Local. This fall, Mississauga is coming together to show our love for our city and for our neighbours.

COVID-19 has changed our lives. Never has community mattered more. Local businesses have struggled to stay open. The same is true for restaurants and entertainment hot spots. Now we need to come together as neighbours and get out to support our local business owners to help our own city flourish, while seeing what Mississauga has to offer, close to home.

This campaign will support and enhance existing programs like #MississaugaMade and the Digital Main Street Program. It will also help promote community campaigns in the five Mississauga BIA districts, which often hold seasonal and localized Shop Local campaigns. Supporting each other this fall as a city is important to build momentum for shopping, dining and enjoying everything local.

MBOT is partnering with five Mississauga Business Improvement Associations, local Mississauga Media outlets, Mississauga shopping centres (Square One, Heartland, and Erin Mills Town Centre), Tourism Mississauga and the Mississauga Economic Development Office to promote and advertise this campaign to encourage residents of Mississauga to shop local.

Get involved!

If you are a local business, restaurant or owner of an entertainment venue or service in Mississauga, we want you to get involved! The Shop Local Mississauga campaign is all about encouraging our neighbours to shop, dine and enjoy local so it will benefit you and your business.
