The Mississauga Board of Trade Distributing FREE Self-Screening Test Kits for SMEs

Mississauga, ON – May 31, 2021 – Today, the Mississauga Board of Trade, in partnership with the Canadian Chamber of Commerce, Ontario Chamber of Commerce, Ontario and Canadian governments, has launched the COVID-19 Rapid Screening Program. Through this initiative, the Mississauga Board of Trade will provide free rapid tests for small and medium-sized businesses.

“Rapid Screening in the workplace is essential for workplace safety and worker peace of mind. Having FREE screening kits available for businesses gives every eligible workplace an opportunity to screen their onsite staff on a regular basis,” said David Wojcik, President and CEO of the Mississauga Board of Trade.

SMEs can visit mbot.com/rapid-antigen-screening-kit and order a two-week supply of Abbott Panbio Antigen screening kits.

Employers are required to appoint a representative who will be responsible for supervising the self-screening process. Appointed supervisors are required to attend the initial pick-up in order to receive video training on testing supervision and safe disposal guidelines. The kits will be available for pick-up, by appointment only, at the sister building beside MBOT at 55 City Centre Dr, Mississauga, ON. The site will open June 1st and operate weekly Tuesday through Thursday, from 9am to 1pm.

All visitors must complete and pass a COVID-19 assessment before entry into the premises. A QR Code will be displayed at the entrance. You can also fill it out online on the day of your pick up here. Check-in at registration and provide the completed PASP (Provincial Antigen Screening Program) form.  Click here to download the agreement form. Please bring a printed copy of the completed form or e-mail an electronic copy to [email protected].

SMEs are required to electronically submit screening results at mbot.com/rapid-antigen-screening-kit by the end of each week. Accumulated data will be reported to the appropriate government officials. It is recommended that staff be screened twice weekly.
MBOT has also produced a unique planning tool called F.A.S.T. The Fast Antigen Screening Toolkit is a must read planning document that outlines communication, screening devices and best practices prior to starting the P.A.S.P program.
