Mississauga Board of Trade sends best wishes to Allan O’Dette, as he moves on from his position at the Ontario Chamber of Commerce.

Below is the communication received from the OCC:

Yesterday, Allan O’Dette announced his decision to resign as President & CEO of the Ontario Chamber of Commerce to the Board of Directors. After five years of success in this role, Allan will be moving on to a new opportunity that will be announced shortly.

On behalf of the Board of Directors, I would like to thank Allan for the leadership he has brought to the organization. During his tenure, the OCC achieved considerable success in establishing the OCC as leader and change agent for Ontario under the umbrella of Emerging Stronger and, more recently, on the Ontario Economic Report. He also ensured that the OCC has a strong and sustainable financial foundation. Allan made strengthening the relationship between the OCC and the Chamber Network through customer focus and enhanced communication a core priority. And, along with strong engagement from the OCC leadership team, Allan has put in place a dynamic strategic plan for the next three years.

The Board of Directors for the OCC has already discussed the transition and has developed a strategy to move forward. Staff have been informed, and are well supported during the transition. We have a solid foundation and an excellent team in place.

We are extremely optimistic about the future of the OCC and are confident that through this period of transition, staff will successfully execute against important upcoming events such as Advocacy Day and the Annual General Meeting in Sarnia.
