Who are you and what is your role?

I am the founder of PARADIGM People Development and an emotional intelligence leadership coach, trainer, and speaker with over 11 years of diverse learning and development experience. I’ve worked with thousands of professionals across Canada to help them level-up through the practical application of emotional intelligence and mindfulness based strategies. I am also an official member of the Forbes Coaches Council, an invite-only organization for successful business coaches, and have published various thought leadership articles on Forbes.com. fundamentally, I am driven by my mission to empower leaders and professionals within organizations to realize their highest ideals, leading to healthy and diverse cultures, happy employees, and thriving businesses that make the world a better place.

What is your business?

My business is called PARADIGM People Development and it is a leadership development firm that specializes in emotional intelligence. Essentially, we help leaders become better leaders by developing their social and emotional skills also known as people skills.

We do this in three different ways:

1. Emotional Intelligence Keynotes: This is an introductory talk that explains what emotional intelligence is and why it matters in leadership
2. Emotional Intelligence Workshops: This is an extension of the keynote, providing participants with case studies and more in-depth training
3. Emotional Intelligence Coaching: This is a series of 1-1 coaching sessions to help leaders develop a specific EI skill like empathy, self-awareness or resilience

We work with organizations to identify their specific cultural needs and then recommend the best solution for them, and what they hope to accomplish though their leadership development initiatives.

When did you become a member of the Mississauga Board of Trade?

I became a member of MBOT in the summer of 2018.

What’s your favourite aspect of MBOT?

I really appreciate the networking side of MBOT which provides a unique opportunity to connect with business leaders in my field and in others that I otherwise would not meet. From those networking opportunities, I’ve been able to form a variety of relationships that have enabled my business, but I’ve also met some really good friends. MBOT is a great place for meeting great people who are up to great things.

What would you say to someone who is thinking about joining MBOT?

Go for it! Don’t think about, just jump in. MBOT has so many different ways to connect and meet others, and you will figure it out as you go with their guidance. You won’t regret it!

How has MBOT helped your business?

There have been several relationships that have formed as a result of attending MBOT meetings that now contribute directly to the bottom line of my business – I am forever grateful.
