Export Document Certification & Notarization Certification means that the information presented is verified and correct; countries that products are being exported to require certification. Notarization means that the document’s signature is verified and legalized, and is done by a stamp and signature by one of MBOT’s Commissioner of Oaths. Business-related documents that can be certified and/or notarized by MBOT include:
All documents - photocopies or originals – must have an original signature on them. To certify/notarize photocopies, a person who is authorized to sign the documents, must include the following statement followed by his/her signature: “I certify this document to be a true copy of the original”. Document certification is necessary for embassies, foreign customs, bankers and freight forwarders/customs brokers. Certificates of Origin Please note that in order for a Certificate of Origin to be certified, MBOT requires that the document first be notarized. Documents can be dated within a month before or after the date they are brought in to be signed. Exceptions: Mississauga Board of Trade will not certify or notarize
