		Business Awards of Excellence An annual event honouring Mississauga's finest businesses. A great way to gain recognition in the community and increase your organization's credibility is to submit a nomination for MBOT's Business Awards of Excellence. Categories include Environmental Excellence, Technology & Innovation, Small Business of the Year, Large Business of the Year, Business and the Arts and more. 		Chair's Gala - Thursday April 15 View 2010 event details here One of MBOT's most prestigious events, held to recognize the efforts and achievements of its outgoing chair. It also celebrates the commitment and dedication of the volunteers who make it possible for MBOT to work on behalf of its members. Enjoy 18 holes of golf, BBQ lunch, dinner and prizes, all part of MBOT's annual golf tournament. 		Annual Mayor's Address Each year, Mississauga's Mayor discusses important issues relating to Mississauga's economic and business climate, and on the future potential and direction for Canada's sixth largest city.

		Politicians Appreciation A special annual event bringing together leaders in Mississauga's business community and the politicians who serve them. A unique opportunity for individuals to meet and establish a relationship with key politicians and officials who can affect the way we do business and our future ability to achieve success.

		Professional Development Seminars Focus on issues and topics that can help further your business objectives and goals. Topics include: international trade, environment, HR, intellectual property and effective marketing. Each event features a keynote speaker(s) from a particular industry. Networking Events
Good Morning Mississauga (GMM) is held on the second Wednesday of the month from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Come armed with a stack of business cards and meet over 100 like-minded business people over a hot breakfast. In this time of economic upheaval, businesses want to network with people they have met and have relationships with. Become a member and book yourself a speaking slot to introduce yourself and your company! Members are also able to bring flyers and company information to events for display. MBOT’s best way to make a “warm” call to 150 businesses! To register as a speaker, contact Amanda Dupuis at 905-273-6151. Please note, because of demand and limited spots per event a member can speak at GMM only once per 12-month period and payment in advance is required to reserve the spot. Individuals registering less than 2 business days before the event will not be listed in the event program.

Mississauga Business Xchange (MBX) - Mix business with pleasure at MBOT's evening networking event, held at least five times a year from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. It includes hot/cold appetizers and a contact referral list for follow-up. MBX is an unstructured event with a social atmosphere, allowing lots of time for face-to-face interaction between attendees - don't forget your business cards! *Individuals registering less than 2 business days before the event will not be listed in the event program.

Speed Networking (SN) is an exciting, structured networking event designed to guarantee attendees with face-to-face interaction. Individuals will move to-and-from different "hot spots" where they will engage in a fast-paced exchange of business ideas. Intense and very effective way to meet 40 – 46 businesses! Limited number of spaces available - register early! Held at least twice a year, in April and October. Individuals registering less than 2 business days before the event will not be listed in the event program. *Due to the limited number of spaces, to ensure a diverse exchange of business ideas by attendees a maximum of two people from one company may register for the same Speed Networking event.

MBOT Ambassadors Committee

MBOT networking events (GMM, MBX and SN) are organized by MBOT staff and our Ambassadors Committee. This committee works with members - new and renewing - to help them make the most of their membership, introducing them to other members at events and helping them get involved with different MBOT activities or member benefits.

Ambassadors serve as greeters at all MBOT networking events - be sure to say 'hello!'
